Weekend fun and Guess Where We Travel Next??

Friday I spent the day shopping and scrambling to get things together for the lingerie shower and bachelorrete party I was helping host for Kylie. Kylie is a friend from Fayetteville and the sorority. Andrea and I were asked to give the shower about 3 weeks ago and have been trying to quickly plan a night for her.

We decided to do something a little different from the norm and planned a scavenger hunt for the evening. Everyone had fun and we were able to celebrate Kylie's bachelorette party in a new way!! Daniel and Marshall went to Brett's bachelor party and lived it up! We all met up in the end for an after-party!

Sunday the weather was not cooperating with me at all. I woke up feeling fine and excited about plans but after a few hours and some signs of a dark sky a major migraine set in. We had plans to meet up with some girlie's since we were in the area...sorry ladies (Cassie, Kerryanne, and Shannon). We were going to stay all day but Daniel had to bring me home early in the afternoon.

Happy Birthday on Sunday to Ben-jam-in and Amanda! We hope you had a great day!

Oh and on a another note....We are headed to Omaha, NE!!!! I do know not much about the area except there are a few 24 Hour Fitness locations...hmmm Does anyone know about North Omaha?

Daniel is really exited about his new rotation and can't wait to see Omaha. I know he is ready for the cooler weather. The HR people at the new hospital already told him about several mountain biking places and he has been searching them! We have people making plans to come visit ;) and are super excited! We can wait to see Mt. Rushmore (a drive we will make), the Old Market in Omaha, Henry Doorly Zoo (supposedly a # 1 rival to the San Diego Zoo), tons of museums and outdoor adventures that await us!!

Ok so as promised Daniel and I decided since we aren't sure where we are traveling next...to have a weekend where nothing was planned. The only thing I had was a wedding shower on Saturday. Friday night has become our date night so we took a risk on Mexican restaurant in town. I will have to say it didn't compare to my favorite Chuy's in Austin and the salsa I dream about..but it was good and the salsa was pretty darn good! Daniel says I am a snob about salsa and ketchup..ok so I might be!! ;)

I had thrown out the idea of going to the drive-in and Daniel was so excited. He again, to my surprise, had never been to a drive in! My parents used to take us all the time when we were little. I am not a big Batman fan (Daniel did want to see it) and its a double feature was Journey to the Center of the Earth. The weather could not have been better and to our suprise Route 66 Historic Drive in Theater was just like an old one!! I did like movies and if it works out..we want to go back! FUN!

Saturday we got up early and Daniel again begged for me to make breakfast... he usually gets a quick no. He asked about 14 more times and I finally said alright. I didn't want to go the store so I got out healthy breakfast fixings. When he saw what I was making I thought he was going to cry! He wanted pancakes, eggs, and bacon!! I said "Seriously!! Seriously... Ok lets go the store." The entire time there he kept asking for pancakes but got the hint and settled with bacon, eggs, and toast. Before I knew it he had eaten the ENTIRE PACKAGE of bacon minus 2 pieces..Later he said his stomach hurt (reallly)! Who eats an entire package of bacon?!?!

Later that afternoon my pareents called and said they were coming up to see their favorite band. They have followed Reba Russell for years and are on a first name basis with them. My parents love a chance to hear them and I am pretty fond of them also. Today is my parents 35th wedding anniversary and since my mom's school began today they decided to celebrate early. It was super fun to be able to go out with them!! I can't wait to do it again!

The rest of the weekend was very relaxing with great weather, a nap, and a run with the dogs! Enjoy the pics!

Happy Anniversary Mama and Daddy!

Today is my parents 35Th Wedding Anniversary!! My parents came up to see their favorite band Reeba Russell (in the pic) on Sat night (more about that later) On Sunday we were having dinner and ...

On a funny note Daniel said that when we get to our 35th he will almost be 70! My dad said well Daniel I am 69. I quickly responded no daddy you are only 59! He had this look on his face like he was calculating his age and was a little confused. We all started laughing and I said well how does it make you feel to know you just gained 10 yrs. He said...well a lot younger!!

Quick Trip

Last week my parents and I made a much needed trip to Dallas and Austin. My grandfather has been sick for quite sometime and had not been doing well over the weekend. My grandmother appreciated us being there very much for a slight break, for the company, and was able to get out of the house. I can say that by the time we left he was doing better.

We decided that since we were only be a few hours from Austin it made sense to head that way. I have no idea when I will be back to Austin so it was nice to see Ben and Ann, the in-laws, and get together with some friends. I knew once we got to Austin I was going to be very busy.

Saturday I got together with Daniel's parents and sister Melissa. It was so good to see them and meet their new puppy Taco. He super cute and keeping them busy. It was nice to catch up with them and all that is going on in the family!! It is hard to keep up with everyone now that we do not see them!

Ben competed in the Jack and Adams Generic Sprint Triathlon at Texas Ski Ranch in San Marcos, TX, on Sunday and my parents were so excited to be able to see him race! Kylie, who I have done 2 half marathons with, was also competing so we made signs for both of them. Ben was so happy that I was there... I have competed in 2 triathlons and was able to give him hints on the transition area and advice on each leg of the race. They both did great and we are trying to pick a tri Daniel, Ben, and Kylie and I can do in a central location! I can't wait it will be super fun!!

After the race I headed to Texas Jumping Bean (air up jumping things) for Hayden's 5th Super Hero birthday party. I got to catch up with Terry, Shelby, Pam, and Shawn, Mama and Pops Shellenberger, and their families at the b-day. They guys were in our wedding and I trained most of them as well. It was so nice to see them and hear about the events in their lives with little ones! Daniel and I really miss getting to hang out with them! I met up with a group of trainers from 24 Hour Fitness after the birthday festivities at Z-Tejas. I miss all of them and we always have a great time hanging out. After dinner I meet Kylie at Dave and Busters for dessert and oh how yummy it was!! She is such a sweet girl and I can't wait to do another race with her.

Monday Ben took off work we all did a little shopping. My mom and I stopped by Central Market to surprise Suzette and Jennifer. Suzette set Daniel and I up on our first date and she and my mom always like catching up. I miss both of those crazy ladies! After a day full of being on the go the family and my friend Kristi went to dinner at a great Italian Restaurant. We closed the place down catching up.

The next day Ann was off as well and she, Ben, and my dad went to pet shops (to look at fish) and just relaxed. My mom and I went shopping for Ben and Daniel's b-days. We meet my friend Marie and little Fletcher in the Domain for lunch. She is doing so great and I miss her a lot as well!! Little Fletcher is growing so much!! That night my mom and I had a surprise birthday dinner for Ben! He loved it and its always fun to have a birthday celebration with your family!!

We left Austin on Wednesday to begin our trip back to Arkansas. I had such a great time in Austin and there were so many more people I wanted to see (Rebbecca, Kim, Cara, and 24 Hour peeps so many to list :)) . Hopefully my next trip will be planned more in advance and I can catch up with more of you! I miss everyone in Austin!! My mom had to work the next day and needed my help in her classroom. I meet Jennifer in Clarksville on Thursday night for dinner. It has been a long time since we have been able to catch up. Jennifer and I have been friends since pre-school and she got married in Nov as well! She is doing great and was getting ready to start teaching on Friday. Friday night I met Daniel, Shannon and Jason, and Kylie and Brett at the ballpark to watch the Naturals game. It was super fun!! We stayed until the fireworks were over! We missed you Cassie and Kerryanne. I did get to meet Kerryanne on Sat morning for breakfast and catch up. She showed me her new place and new puppy! Things are going great for her and I could not be happier!

The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing with Daniel. I missed him and our crazy puppies and it was nice to be able to play hard with them again!! I hope the next trip I make to Dallas (Jillsie, Amanda) and Austin Daniel can come as well and we can make plans to see everyone!

Daniel said to say that he spent the time I was gone doing nothing (with a sad face)...he really did something every night...He grilled, went to the gym, and visited with the neighbors every night!!
Anyway, until next time...we miss everyone so much!!
